Dear Friend,
This letter is to inform and invite you, your church congregation, your friends, your family and your neighbors to not only attend but to participate in the Harvest Community Crusade September 19-22nd at Shepherd Hill Opry in Samantha, Alabama. I will be preaching the word Wednesday through Friday night. We will have special community singers/choirs bringing the music each night. On Saturday night, Guy Penrod will close out the week in what I know will be the ending of great work of The Lord. We would love to have churches hold their Wednesday night services at the Crusade. The Lord is pleading with us to come to Him. Our country and communities are ripe and the fields are white with lost loved ones who have not accepted Jesus as Savior. And just as Jesus told Nichodemus, “you must be born again”, that’s the simple but profound message ALL need to hear. There is no doubt you know someone dear to you who is lost. This is a great opportunity to bring that person to hear from God. Oftentimes, it is easier to “persuade” a non-church going person to attend a service outside. I hope you will receive this letter as my plea with a great sense of urgency.
I believe it’s going to be a mighty, mighty movement of God on Shepherd Hill in Samantha, Alabama. Be praying about it now. Have your church participate. Tell them let’s go, we are going to have church, September 19-22. It’s going to be a good old-fashioned camp meeting. Please pray about it. Put it on your bulletin board at church, in your bulletin each Sunday morning and on your prayer list. Again, I am asking you to begin now to fervently pray for this event.
A friend of mine, Frank Shelton, was a Capitol policeman in Washington, DC. His father Frank Shelton, Sr. had protected six presidents, one of the highest ranking police officers. Frank was about to fall into that position. But, God got a hold of his heart and he left that high ranking position – left the White House and started preaching Jesus. He now works for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He and I did one of these crusades in Butler, Alabama and 98 people accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. I believe even better things can happen in Samantha, Alabama and I believe that all denominations who believe that Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord needs to come together. I believe if we believe in Jesus that it doesn’t matter what is over the door of our church, we will be in Heaven together. I believe this is an opportunity for all of us to come together and hear from Jesus – from God’s Word. I believe he will bless it in a mighty way. September may seem like a long way off but we need to be praying now! Praying for lost souls to come to Jesus.
Then, on the last night of the crusade, Guy Penrod is scheduled to be on Shepherd Hill. The reason why God can work through things like an outdoor crusade is because Christians pray about it and pray about fervently.
