Shepherd Hill Opry - Samantha, Alabama

The outdoor Amphitheater was built in memory of Johnny Williamson by his children on the property where he called home and created deep roots. The Stage was the inspiration of Larry Williamson, the oldest son.

Johnny called family gatherings parties, which consisted of family, friends, food and music.  He instructed his children to continue having parties on his property after he was gone. This site is intended to glorify God and continue Johnny's legacy in the community he loved so dearly with his multitude of friends. All net proceeds benefit the Johnny Williamson Good Shepherd Foundation.

Concerts are held throughout the year.  Well-known artists Guy Penrod, Lulu Roman (former Hee Haw Star), Marty Raybon (lead singer with Shenandoah), Clinton Gregory Bluegrass Band, Jennifer Brantley, Gerald Smith, and Addison Johnson have performed at Shepherd Hill Opry as well as Donnie Lee Strickland and Shannon Knight formerly with The Gaithers.   Many talented local artists including up and coming artist Kat Taylor, The Crains Nest, Lawrence Shaul, Sharon Bounds, and many more.

It is a tradition at Shepherd Hill Opry that the last song sung at each event is always "I Saw the Light".  The crowd all join in and all musicians come on stage to lead.

Beautiful park area at the right of the stage for picnics. Great place for outdoor family activities, family reunions, birthday parties, etc. Alcohol free.

Shepherd Hill Opry is a ministry of Johnny Williamson Good Shepherd Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Faith-Based organization.

Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.  I Corin. 10:30

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
